Liverpool Selective Licensing Changes

Liverpool’s city wide selective licensing scheme finishes on the 31st March 2020. The council has stated that there will be no requirement to license properties after this date. A new scheme may be introduced by the council in due course, but at the time of writing an application for this to occur has not yet been submitted. A full consultation will be taking place in the near future. If this affects our landlords, we will let them know.

Should a new scheme be introduced, landlords will only need to apply if the licencing designation covers the area where your property is. If landlords let out HMOs, this is a mandatory scheme, so such properties must be licenced.

More information will be available soon on the council’s website, which can be found here. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact the Mistoria team with your questions.
